I’ve envied those artists' studios on Pinterest where a perfectly diffused light streams in from a beautiful garden and there is space for everything. An “artist at work” photo would never work for me, as it would show me on the floor, typically, defending myself from the cats. But, gradually, I’ve turned the spare bedroom into a place where I can draw! (And there is still room to pull out the sofa bed for guests.)
The three basket IKEA RÅSKOG trolley was one of my best purchases. At the time of purchase, it was £39, but now it’s £50. The Daylight Company Lumi Task Lamp, which fixes to the side of the table, also was a good investment.
Brushes should be stored upside down, so I glued a brush holder thing to an IKEA Mosslanda picture ledge and use the ledge itself for storage. I’m still recovering from the trauma of putting up that ledge, but when I’ve recovered, I’ll put a few more up for the cats to climb on — that’s the idea, anyway.
